Lamonte Martin Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on W Grande Boulevard in Tyler

Lamonte Martin ID’d as Man Killed in Tyler Crash on West Grande Boulevard near Hollytree Drive

Tyler, Texas (April 14, 2022) – Police have identified the man who died Wednesday night following a traffic crash in Tyler as Lamonte Martin, 24, of Tyler.

The tragic wreck happened at about 10:00 p.m. on April 13 in the 1000 block of W. Grande Boulevard near Hollytree Drive, according to the Tyler Police Department.

Police said a Toyota RAV4, occupied by Martin, was traveling eastbound on West Grande Boulevard when it slammed into the passenger side rear bumper of a Ford F150, which was making a left turn.

Martin was ejected from the vehicle upon the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Two occupants of the pickup were not injured.

All lanes of West Grande Boulevard were closed following the crash. As of early Thursday morning, the road was reopened back to traffic.

No further details about the crash were immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation.
