LaQuenta Housley and Andrew Griffin Killed in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45

Houston, Texas (December 22, 2021) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just after 12:30 a.m., December 19, on Interstate 45 (North Freeway).

Police said a black Dodge Charger was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway when it struck a black Kia Rio and a gray Kia Soul.

The Kia Rio driver, 31-year-old Andrew Griffin, and his passenger, 20-year-old LaQuenta Housley, were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Kia Soul was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The wrong-way driver, 26-year-old Sarah Gay, was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help raise money for Housley’s funeral expenses.

The crash closed the freeway for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
