Laura Segura Seriously Injured in Jefferson County Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Twin City Highway

Jefferson County, Texas (January 6, 2020) – A woman was injured in an auto-pedestrian accident Sunday night in Groves, according to the DPS.

The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. on January 5, in the 2600 block of Twin City Highway.

DPS said Laura Segura, 48, of Port Arthur, was attempting to cross the highway when she was struck by a Ford pickup driven by Luis Cheveresrivera, 34, of Louisiana.

Segura was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries.

Cheveresrivera was uninjured in the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
