13-Year-Old Leah Johnson Injured in Krum Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident

Krum, Texas (January 10, 2020) – A 13-year-old girl was injured in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday evening in Krum, according to the authorities.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on January 8, in front of Miguelito’s Mexican Restaurant.

As per the report, Leah Johnson, 13, was seen on security footage walking alone outside the restaurant. She walked towards the road and was hit by a dark-colored red or maroon SUV. The SUV dragged Johnson down the street before fleeing the scene.

Customers leaving the restaurant rushed over to help Johnson. 

Johnson was airlifted to Cook Children’s Hospital with a lacerated spleen and liver, broken pelvis, broken legs, and broken arm.

Jesus Acevedo, 23, was arrested by the police on Thursday evening in connection with the crash. He was charged with accident involving personal injury or death.

An investigation is underway.
