Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez Killed in Burleson County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 60 at Davidson Creek Bridge

Burleson County, Texas (September 19, 2022) – A man was killed Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash in Burleson County, according to troopers.

The fatal crash happened just before 11:00 p.m., September 17, on FM 60, approximately three miles northeast of Somerville at the Davidson Creek Bridge.

Troopers said a 2003 Ford F150 was traveling eastbound on the highway while a 2009 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was attempting to exit a private drive.

The Ford then struck the trailer of the Peterbilt.

The Ford driver, Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez, 68, of Bryan, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Peterbilt was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
