Leon Salmeron ID’d as Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Crash on Highway 183 near Anderson Square
Austin, Texas (May 1, 2019) – The man who was killed last Friday night in a traffic accident in North Austin has been identified as Leon Rogelio Andres Salmeron, 23, according to police.
The deadly crash occurred at about 8:07 p.m. Friday, April 26 in the 8300 block of the Hwy 183 southbound service road, near the Anderson Square intersection.
Police said a grey 2005 Honda Accord was attempting to exit The Park at Crestview Apartments when its driver failed to yield right of way from a private drive and collided with a red Ford F-150 pickup that was traveling southbound on the service road.
The force of the impact caused the pickup to hit a concrete support column. Salmeron, who was the driver of the pickup, was declared deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
