Kilgore, Texas (January 9, 2022) – A woman was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash about a mile and a half west of Kilgore, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash occurred just after 10:30 p.m., January 7, on Interstate 20.

Authorities said Linda Blaney, 68, of Shreveport, was driving a 2004 Mazda Tribute eastbound on the interstate when she was involved in a single-vehicle crash. Her car was disabled in the inside lane and was rear-ended by an eastbound 2021 Kenworth towing a trailer, driven by Jeremy Ragle of Emory.

The Mazda caught fire after the crash and was fully engulfed in flames.

Blaney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ragle was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Linda Blaney.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
