Linda Cadena Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on S. 1st Street at Annie Street

Austin, Texas (December 4, 2020) – The woman who was injured early last month in a two-vehicle crash in Austin has died, according to police.

The crash happened just after 3:00 a.m., November 7, at the intersection of S. 1st Street and Annie Street.

Police said a gray Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound on S. 1st Street while a Dodge Ram was traveling westbound on Annie Street. One of the vehicles ran a red light at the intersection, resulting in a collision.

The force of the impact caused the Dodge to hit a rock wall and roll before coming to rest on its roof.

Occupants of both vehicles were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Linda Cadena, 58, who was a passenger in the Dodge, was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, where she died on November 20.

The APD is investigating the crash. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at 512-974-6935. Tips can also be submitted by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Linda Cadena.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
