Polk County, Texas (November 25, 2019) – Two people were killed, and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday evening in Polk County, east of Livingston, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m. November 23, at the intersection of US 190 and Beech Creek Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, Jay Myers, 18, of Colmesneil, was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup westbound when he crossed over the center of the highway and hit an eastbound 2008 Nissan SUV driven by Lional Kenebrew,36, of Newton.

The impact caused the Dodge to spin off the roadway and hit a 2016 Ford SUV that was stopped at the stop sign on Beech Creek Road.

The Nissan rolled over, ejecting Kenebrew and a 13-year-old passenger. They were both declared dead at the scene. Three other passengers in the Nissan were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Myers was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Ford driver, 28-year-old Zachary Riley of Livingston, and his three passengers were treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
