Lorenzo Carmona and DeRichee Nkogallago lID’d as 2 Victims of Fatal Upton County Crash on SH 349 near Midland

Upton County, Texas (January 27, 2023) – Authorities have identified the two people who were killed on Thursday in a three-vehicle crash in Upton County as 26-year-old Lorenzo Carmona and 31-year-old DeRichee Nkogallago.

The deadly crash occurred on SH 349, 24 miles south of Midland, on January 26.

According to the authorities, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Carmona, was heading northbound on SH 349. At the same time, both a 2020 Jeep Gladiator and a 2021 Ford F-150, driven by Nkogallago, were traveling southbound on SH 349.

The Silverado failed to maintain in its lane and collided with the Gladiator, which then overturned. The Silverado also struck the front of the Ford F-150.

Carmona and Nkogallago were both pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Carmona’s vehicle was transported to Medical Center Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the Gladiator did not suffer any injuries.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
