Loretta McClinton Killed in Burnet County Two-Vehicle Crash at Texas 71 and CR 401

Burnet County, Texas (June 10, 2020) – According to the DPS, a 46-year-old Spicewood woman was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in southern Burnet County.

The fatal crash happened at about noon, June 9, at the intersection of Texas 71 and County Road 401.

DPS said Loretta McClinton was stopped in her Ford Fusion on County Road 401 facing southbound while a 2017 Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on Texas 71, approaching the intersection.

McClinton then pulled into the intersection, failed to yield the right of way, and the Ford was struck by the Dodge.

McClinton was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
