Luisa Martinez Arrested in Fatal Dallas Hit-and-Run Crash on Fort Worth Avenue

Dallas, Texas (October 23, 2022) – An 18-year-old woman has been arrested following a September hit-and-run accident that left a man dead in Dallas, according to the police.

Luisa Martinez was arrested on Thursday, October 20, and charged with accident involving death.

The deadly accident happened around 1:39 a.m., on September 24, on Fort Worth Avenue.

Police said Reynaldo Escalante, 50, was walking on the roadway when he was struck by a car. That car fled the scene after the accident.

Escalante was then hit by a red Chevy Cruz, which also fled the scene.

Escalante was pronounced dead at the scene.

Martinez was arrested on Thursday and was being held in the Dallas Co. Jail on no bond by ICE. Officers did not say if she was the driver of the first or second car.

The police are investigating the crash.
