Luz Maria Flores Angulo Victim in Fatal Odessa Three-Vehicle Crash on 42nd Street and Preston Smith Road
Odessa, Texas (October 29, 2019) – A midland woman was killed, and two other people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Sunday night at an Odessa intersection, according to a local news release.
The fatal crash took place around 11:11 p.m. on October 27, in the area of 42nd Street and Preston Smith Road.
According to a preliminary investigation, Tiana Garza and Luz Maria Flores Angulo were driving their vehicles westbound on 42nd Street. Edgar Mendoza Cruz came up behind them at high speed and hit Angulo’s car, pushing it into Garza’s vehicle.
Angulo was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where she was declared dead.
Angulo’s passenger, Luis Flores, was also taken to MCH with serious injuries.
Johnny Hinojos, who was a passenger in Garza’s vehicle, was also taken to MCH with non-life threatening injuries.
Cruz was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
The police are investigating the crash.
