Maddison Lassetter Hit, Killed by McLennan County Sheriff’s Deputy on Interstate 35 in Waco

Maddison Lassetter ID’d as Woman Killed in Waco Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 35

Waco, Texas (May 9, 2022) – Authorities have identified the woman who died after being struck by a McLennan County Sheriff’s Deputy early Saturday morning in Waco as Maddison Lassetter, 24, of Waco.

According to the Waco Police Department, the deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 1:50 a.m. Saturday, May 7, on Interstate 35.

Police said Lassetter was walking southbound in the middle of the outside lane on Interstate 35 when she was hit by a McLennan County Sheriff’s Deputy, who was en route to a call in Lorena.

Despite life-saving measures performed by the driver, Lassetter did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe has been created to cover funeral expenses for Lassetter.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
