Man Killed in NW Harris County Pedestrian Accident on SH 249

Harris County, Texas (November 30, 2021) – A man was hit and killed by a car early Monday morning in northwest Harris County, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident happened around 3:00 a.m., November 29, on State Highway 249, just south of the Beltway.

Authorities said the man was either standing in or was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a Jeep.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Jeep driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and did not show any signs of impairment.

The accident closed both directions of the highway from West Road to Northwest Park Drive for several hours.

An investigation is underway.
