Man Killed in Riviera Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 285

Riviera, Texas (February 11, 2022) – A man was fatally hit by a truck Tuesday night, about seven miles west of Riviera, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened just after 11:00 p.m., February 8, on SH 285.

DPS said a Freightliner was traveling westbound on the highway when it struck a man who ran onto the highway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
