22-Year-Old Man Injured in Victoria Car Accident at North Ben Wilson Street and Sam Houston Drive
Victoria, Texas (January 20, 2019) – A man was injured in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Victoria Saturday evening, police said.
The crash was reported at around 6:25 p.m. Saturday, January 19 at the intersection of North Ben Wilson Street and Sam Houston Drive.
According to the police, a 37-year-old man was driving a Dodge Ram 3500 when he failed to stop at a stop sign while attempting to make a left turn off North Ben Wilson Street onto Sam Houston Road.
The Dodge Ram then collided with a Chevrolet HHR driven by a 22-year-old man, which was traveling southbound on Sam Houston Drive.
The 22-year-old man sustained minor injuries and was transported to Citizens Medical Center.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was unhurt and was charged with running the red light.
Traffic was redirecting on North Ben Wilson Street and Sam Houston Drive at around 7:10 p.m. as emergency crews worked to clear the scene of the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
