52-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Amarillo Pedestrian Accident on North Lakeside Drive

Amarillo, Texas (October 18, 2019) – A man was critically injured and a horse was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday night in Amarillo, according to the police.

The accident was reported around 8:08 p.m. on October 17, in the 600 block of North Lakeside Drive (Loop 335).

Police said a 52-year-old man was riding a horse eastbound on the Loop when he was hit by a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The horse was killed in the crash.

The Jeep driver was uninjured in the crash.

The APD’s Traffic Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
