Man Killed, 2 Injured in Head-On Crash on FM 3083 in Conroe

Man Killed in Conroe Crash on FM 3083 at Waukegan Road

Conroe, Texas (February 21, 2023) – A man was killed and two other people were injured in a Tuesday morning head-on crash southeast of Conroe, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened at around 6:15 a.m. on FM 3083 at Waukegan Road between Conroe and Grangerland.

As per the report, a GMC Yukon SUV was traveling southbound when it collided head-on with a northbound Nissan Rouge. The Nissan was passing vehicles in a no-passing zone.

First responders found the GMC on the side of the roadway with damage to its right-front side. A trailer the GMC was hauling was on its side and the Nissan was found upside down.

The male passenger in the Nissan was extricated from the wreck and transported to Conroe Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been disclosed.

Both drivers of the vehicles also were transported to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
