One Man Killed, Another Man Injured in Houston Crash on Interstate 45 near Greens Road

Houston, Texas (August 12, 2022) – A man was killed and another man was injured in a traffic collision Thursday morning in Houston, Houston police said.

The deadly crash, which involved a detached trailer, occurred at around 4:35 a.m. Thursday, August 11, in the 12400 block of Interstate 45, just north of Greens Road.

According to the Houston police, a flatbed truck was traveling northbound on Interstate 45 when its trailer detached and came to a stop in the roadway.

A Ford Mustang crashed into the detached trailer. A Ford Ranger pickup truck swerved to avoid the collision but ended up hitting the back of the trailer.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Mustang was transported to a local hospital. As of Thursday afternoon, the patient was in stable condition.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
