Dallas, Texas (April 25, 2022) – A man was killed Monday morning in a fiery chain-reaction crash in Dallas, according to the police.

The deadly crash happened around 1:00 a.m., in the 10700 block of westbound LBJ Freeway (Interstate 365) near Plano Road.

Police said the man was driving a 2009 blue Honda Accord when he was involved in a single-car crash that left the Honda disabled in the left lane.

A semi-truck was attempting to pass another semi-truck when it struck the Honda and pulled to the right forcing both semi-trucks to hit the concrete barrier.

The semi-truck that hit the Honda ended up disconnected from its trailer and caught fire, while the other semi-truck ended up jackknifed down an embankment.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No other details were available.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
