One Killed in Zavalla Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 63 and SH 147

Zavalla, Texas (May 29, 2020) – A man was killed in a head-on collision on Thursday south of Zavalla, according to police.

The fatal crash happened at the intersection of state Highway 63 and state Highway 147.

Police said a Dodge pickup truck was exiting from Highway 63 onto Highway 147 when it failed to yield the right of way and struck the driver’s side of a Chevrolet sedan.

The Chevrolet driver was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Dodge driver was uninjured, and charges are pending an investigation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Zavalla Police Department are investigating the crash.
