Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on North Freeway in Houston

Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45)

Houston, Texas (May 9, 2021) – A man was killed last week Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 5:35 a.m., May 2, in the 8900 block of North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45).

Police said a minor crash occurred in the northbound lanes, and a few minutes later, a gold Honda Accord struck a black Hyundai, which was involved in the first crash.  

The Honda driver got outside to check on the damage on the vehicle and was struck by a white Chevrolet van.

The Chevrolet driver fled the scene on foot.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The police are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information on the identity of the hit-and-run driver is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
