Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Slaughter Lane in Austin

Man Killed in Austin Motorcycle Crash on West Slaughter Lane and Texas Oaks Boulevard

Austin, Texas (June 10, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck early Friday morning at an intersection in south Austin, according to Austin Police.

The wreck happened at about 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Slaughter Lane and Texas Oaks Boulevard.

A witness said the truck was traveling westbound on Slaughter Lane when it made a left turn, directly into the path of a motorcycle that was heading eastbound. The truck ultimately struck the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, only identified as an adult victim, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The truck driver stopped at the scene to cooperate with the investigators.

Police temporarily closed eastbound lanes of Slaughter Lane following the wreck.

No other details regarding the crash were available.

The accident remains under investigation.
