Dallas, Texas (March 28, 2022) – A man was killed early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Dallas, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened shortly before 4:00 a.m., March 27, at the intersection of Skillman Street and Velasco Avenue.

Police said the man was riding a black 2015 Harley-Davison motorcycle northbound on Skillman Street at a high rate of speed approaching Velasco Avenue.

A 30-year-old man was driving a gray 2019 Toyota westbound on Velasco Avenue, and he stopped at the stop sign at Skillman Street.

The Toyota driver failed to yield the right of way, attempted to continue straight onto Velasco Avenue, and the motorcycle crashed into the back left passenger door of the Toyota.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Toyota driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
