Man Killed, Juan Almanza Arrested after Wrong-Way Crash on I-45 near I-10 in Houston

Juan Almanza Arrested after Fatal Houston Car Crash on Interstate 45 near Interstate 10

Houston, Texas (March 19, 2019) – A driver was arrested after one man was killed in a deadly wrong-way collision that occurred near downtown Houston early Monday morning, according to the police.
The incident occurred at about 2:20 a.m. March 18 on Interstate 45 just south of Interstate 10.
Police said Juan David Almanza, 36, was driving a white pickup northbound in the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway when he collided head-on with an oncoming white Mustang.
The male driver of the Mustang died in the collision. His female passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Police said Almanza was intoxicated at the time of the collision. He was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter.
