Man Pushing Cart Hit, Killed by Vehicle on South 1st Street in Abilene
56-Year-Old Man Killed in Abilene Pedestrian Accident on South 1st Street and Portland Street
Abilene, Texas (October 30, 2022) – A 56-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was pushing a cart Saturday night in Abilene, according to a report by the Abilene Police Department.
The deadly crash happened at around 7:18 p.m. Saturday, October 29, at the intersection of South 1st Street and Portland Street outside Armando’s.
Abilene Police said the man was crossing at the intersection of South 1st Street and Portland Street pushing a cart when a 2011 GMC SUV hit him.
The man was heading southbound from the train tracks before he was hit by the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
