Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Freeway Service Road near Remington Valley Drive

Houston, Texas (July 22, 2022) – A man died after he was struck Thursday night by a DUI driver in the Greater Greenspoint neighborhood in Houston, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened at about 8:55 p.m. Thursday, July 21, on the northbound North Freeway Service Road near Remington Valley Drive.

Authorities said the man was walking in the middle lane of North Freeway Service Road when he was struck by a Lexus RX 350.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Lexus stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Authorities later determined that the driver was under the influence at the time of the accident.

The driver was ultimately arrested and booked into jail for DUI.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
