25-Year-Old Man Killed in Dayton Pedestrian Accident on SH 321

Dayton, Texas (December 12, 2019) – A 25-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in a pedestrian accident in Dayton near Dayton prison, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash happened around 9:15 p.m. December 10, in the 7600 block of SH 321 near the 321 Food Mart.

DPS said the man was driving a 2008 Ford Escape southbound when he got out of his vehicle and kneeled in the northbound lane of traffic. He was then struck by a northbound 2015 GMC Terrain, driven by John Hendricks, 31, of Cleveland.

The man was declared dead at the scene.

Hendricks remained at the scene after the accident.

An investigation is underway.
