Manuela H. Pedroza Killed and Six Injured in Wise County Multi-Vehicle Crash on FM 730 near CR 4181

Wise County, Texas (December 22, 2019) – A woman was killed, and six other people were injured Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Wise County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash occurred around 9:39 a.m. December 21, on Farm-to-Market Road 730 near County Road 4181.

DPS said Alexander Nieto,20, was driving a 2007 Cadillac Escalade southbound on FM 730 when he went too fast while negotiating a curve in wet roads and began to skid sideways. He crossed into the northbound lane, where he hit a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Calvin C. Loftice, 37.

Nieto and a 14-year-old girl were taken to Medical City Hospital in Denton. Nieto had serious injuries while the girl had non-life threatening injuries.

Another passenger in the Escalade, Manuela H. Pedroza, 47, was killed in the crash.

Calvin and 31-year-old Cori Loftice were taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with critical injuries.

Two children in the Ford, ages 5 and 2, were taken to local hospitals in unknown conditions.

The crash remains under investigation.
