Marcos Lopez Killed in Orla Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 285

Orla, Texas (January 13, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash south of Orla, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened around 1:29 p.m. on January 11, on U.S. Highway 285.

DPS said a Ford F-550 was heading northbound on the highway while Marcos Lopez, 21, of Odessa, was driving a Nissan Altima southbound. The Nissan then crossed over to the wrong side of the road and hit the Ford.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
