Martel Tamar Sanders ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in San Marcos Crash on Interstate 35 near Wonder World Drive Off-Ramp

San Marcos, Texas (August 6, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed Friday in a traffic accident in San Marcos has been identified as Martel Tamar Sanders, 41, according to authorities.

The deadly accident happened on Interstate 35 northbound near the Wonder World Drive off-ramp Friday, August 2.

Authorities said Sanders was riding a Harley Davidson in the left lane when traffic ahead began to slow down near the Wonder World Drive exit.

Sanders was unable to avoid the vehicle ahead and rear-ended it. He was ejected to the ground and into moving traffic.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on Sanders. He was then taken to Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays,, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No further details were immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
