Matthew McDonald ID’d as Man Killed in North Austin Pedestrian Crash on North Interstate Highway 35
Austin, Texas (August 7, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a big rig late last month in north Austin has been identified as Matthew McDonald, 25, according to the Austin police.
The incident took place at about 1:37 a.m. July 27, in the 8200 block of North Interstate Highway 35.
Police said McDonald was in the middle lane of the interstate when he was hit by a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer.
McDonald was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver involved remained at the scene of the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
