Megan Murray Injured and Dog Missing After Bryan Car Accident on Highway 6; Ersmo Rojo Marquz Arrested

Bryan, Texas (July 13, 2020) – A woman was injured, and her dog is missing after a suspected drunk driving crash Saturday night in Bryan, according to police.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on July 11, on Highway 6, between Tabor Road and Woodville Road.

Police said Erasmo Rojo-Marquez, 68, of Bryan, was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when he crashed head-on into a Jeep driven by Megan Murray. A police officer had tried several times to stop Rojo-Marquez.

The impact caused the Jeep to roll over, and Murray’s dog, Bella, ran away from the scene in the direction of a nearby church.

Murray and Rojo-Marquez sustained minor injuries.

Rojo-Marquez told officers he had only consumed two beers before the crash. He was arrested and taken to Brazos County Detention Center. He has been charged with Evading Arrest in a Vehicle and Driving While Intoxicated. His bond was set at $7,000

Murray is looking for Bella, a Dachshund Mix, three to four years old, brown and tan, and was wearing a pink collar and bandana at the time of the crash. Anyone who has seen Bella is asked to call Murray at 979-450-4294 or John Murray at 979-777-5644.

An investigation is underway.

We wish Megan Murray a quick recovery.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol however is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.

Regardless of what substance caused the driver’s reaction time to become significantly altered, intoxication by any means can cause terrible accidents and injuries.

Innocent victims harmed by drunk drivers are entitled to compensation for their injuries, including but not limited to medical expenses; lost wages; pain and suffering and mental anguish; physical impairment and disability; and most importantly, punitive damages to deter future conduct.

If you have been injured because of a drunk driver, you will want a knowledgeable accident lawyer to bring a  personal injury action against the drunk driver.
