Melissa Williams Killed in Royse City Pedestrian Accident on Miss May Drive

Royse City, Texas (September 21, 2021) – A school crossing guard was fatally hit by a vehicle Monday morning in Royse City, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 7:30 a.m., September 20, on Miss May Drive at Miss May Vernon Elementary School.

Police said a vehicle was traveling on Miss May Drive when the driver might have had a medical emergency, entered the school zone, and struck Melissa Williams and then another vehicle. 

Williams was hit during the morning drop-off period.

Williams was taken to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Lake Pointe, where she was pronounced dead.

No further details regarding the accident were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
