Melvin Taylor Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Dallas North Tollway in Dallas

Melvin Taylor Victim in Fatal Dallas Car Crash on Dallas North Tollway near West University Boulevard

Dallas, Texas (October 30, 2019) – The person who was killed early Monday morning in a wrong-way crash in Dallas has been identified as Melvin Taylor, 57, of Lancaster, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash was reported at about 2:00 a.m. on Dallas North Tollway near West University Boulevard.

DPS said Chaz Thames was driving a white Range Rover northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway when he crashed head-on into a Nissan Altima driven by Taylor.

Taylor was killed in the crash.

Thames was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The crash remains under investigation.
