Meredith K. Epperson Killed and Two Injured in West Tawakoni Car Crash on State Highway 276
West Tawakoni, Texas (April 17, 2019) – One person was killed, and two others were injured Tuesday night in a three-vehicle crash near West Tawakoni, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash was reported at about 8:15 p.m. April 16, on State Highway 276.
DPS said a Silverado Chevy pickup was traveling westbound on the highway while a Ford pickup truck was heading eastbound followed by another Ford F-150 towing a trailer. The Silverado then crossed into the eastbound lane, for an unknown reason, and hit the first Ford causing it to spin and hit the other Ford.
Meredith K. Epperson, 82, of West Tawakoni, who was driving the first pickup truck, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver and passenger of the second Ford were taken to Hunt Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
No further details were available.
The crash remains under investigation.
