Merry Daye Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Cameron Road in Austin

Merry Daye ID’d as Woman Killed in Austin Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident on Cameron Road

Austin, Texas (December 20, 2019) – The woman who was killed in an alleged hit-and-run bicycle accident Monday morning in North Austin has been identified as Merry Daye, 45, according to the police.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. December 16, in the 6000 block of Cameron Road near Clayton Lane and Interstate Highway 35.

Police said Daye was dealing with a mechanical issue on her bike within the designated bicycle lane when she was hit by a southbound silver 2014 Dodge Ram pickup.

Daye was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center, where she later died.

The Dodge fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was later located, and a suspect is yet to be identified.
