Michael David Myers Killed in Car Crash on Highway 36 near Brenham

Michael David Myers Killed in Brenham Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 36 

Brenham, Texas (October 7, 2020) – A former Somerville coach was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening between Brenham and Somerville, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened just after 5:00 p.m., October 5, on Highway 36.

DPS said Michael David Myers, 51, was driving a Chevy Equinox northbound behind a 2019 Volvo that was pulling a trailer.

As the Volvo prepared to turn right, it was rear-ended by the Chevy.

Myers was pronounced dead at the scene. He worked in the district as a teacher and coach from August 2005 to May 2017.

The Volvo driver, 55-year-old Philip Harless from Quinlan, was uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
