Michael Pesqueda Injured in Fatal Parker County Three-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 199

Parker County, Texas (December 30, 2020) – A man was injured in a multi-vehicle crash that left a mother and two young children dead Monday afternoon in Parker County, just west of Springtown, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 12:35 p.m., December 28, on State Highway 199, northwest of Fort Worth.

DPS said Brittany Nicole Counts, 25, of Springtown, was driving a 2007 Ford Edge when she failed to control her speed and rear-ended a 2017 GMC pickup that had slowed down to turn left onto Park View Court. The impact caused Counts to lose control and spin into the westbound side, where she was hit by a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 72-year-old Beauford Basped, Jr., of Kennedale.

Counts and two children in her car, a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, were killed in the crash.

Basped was taken to a Fort Worth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The GMC driver, Michael Pesqueda, 50, of Springtown, was uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
