Michelle August Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on South Highway 176 in Martin County

Michelle August ID’d as Woman Killed in Martin County Crash on South Highway 176

Martin County, Texas (May 20, 2022) – Authorities have identified the woman who died Monday evening following a two-vehicle crash in Martin County as Michele August, 63, of Midland.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. on May 16 on South Highway 176.

DPS said August was driving a truck westbound on South Highway 176 when, for an unknown reason, she allowed the vehicle to drift into the eastbound lane.

August’s truck then collided with another truck that was heading eastbound on South Highway 176, driven by Dhakota Schamme Hinojosa, 22, of Stanton.

August and Hinojosa were transported to the Martin County Hospital, where August later died. Hinojosa was treated and released from the hospital.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
