Misty Byram and Jerome Smith Killed in Rogers Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 190 near Rogers Cemetery Road

Rogers, Texas (June 12, 2019) – Two people were killed Sunday night in a head-on collision near Rogers, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 9:48 p.m. June 9, on Highway 190, just east of Rogers Cemetery Road.

According to police, a witness said a car was trying to pass another car, but it crashed head-on into a car which was driving in the opposite direction.

Misty Byram, 39, of Rogers, died at the scene. She was the only occupant in her car. Jerome Smith, 57, of Copperas Cove, was taken to Baylor Scott and White where he later died.

A woman was in the car with Smith was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were unlikely factors in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
