Monica Velazquez Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 77 in Cass County
Monica Velazquez ID’d as Woman Killed in Cass County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 77
Cass County, Texas (July 19, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday morning in Cass County has been identified as 30-year-old Monica Velazquez, according to the authorities.
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 a.m. July 17, on Texas Highway 77.
DPS said Velazquez was driving eastbound on the highway when she attempted to pass another vehicle and entered into the westbound lane, where her vehicle collided head-on with a semi-truck driven by 60-year-old Debra Jones.
Velazquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
