Motorcycle Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at SW 3rd Avenue and McMasters Street in Amarillo

Motorcycle Police Officer Hospitalized after Amarillo Crash at Southwest 3rd Avenue and S. McMasters Street

Amarillo, Texas (July 12, 2022) – A motorcycle police officer was injured in a hit-and-run crash at an intersection in Amarillo, according to Amarillo Police Department.

The collision happened on Monday, July 11, in the area of Southwest 3rd Avenue and S. McMasters Street.

Amarillo police said a vehicle backed up and struck the motorcycle. The car then dragged the motorcycle officer about 20 feet.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening and was taken to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to the officer and fled northbound on McMasters. Authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a small, 4-door, older model, black car with rear-end damage.

The vehicle has a partial license plate of PBR.
