Motorcyclist Dead, 2 Injured in Fiery Crash on Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie

1 Killed and Two Injured in Grand Prairie Crash near Belt Line Road near Marshall Drive

Grand Prairie, Texas (August 24, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed and two other people were injured Thursday evening in a fiery traffic collision in Grand Prairie, according to the police.

The fatal crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. August 22, near the intersection of Belt Line Road and Marshall Drive.

Police said a motorcycle was heading southbound on Belt Line Road at a high rate of speed without its lights on when it slammed into a car which was turning left onto Kingston Drive.

The impact caused the car to flip over and the motorcycle to catch fire.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver, a 31-year-old, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 42-year-old passenger in the car sustained serious injuries.

Officers said the motorcyclist was attempting to evade police after running a red light with no headlight on and no license plate.

The crash remains under investigation.
