Man Killed in San Antonio Motorcycle Accident on IH-10 near Foster Road

San Antonio, Texas (March 4, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Monday evening in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. March 2, on IH-10 near Foster Road.

Police said a man was riding a motorcycle eastbound when he came upon slow-moving traffic, and he braked. He was then rear-ended by a White Freightliner.

The truck also hit three other vehicles, causing one of them to roll over.

The truck jack-knifed, blocking the eastbound traffic. The driver jumped out of the cab and fled the scene.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Officers are looking for the truck driver who is facing several charges.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
