Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on North Sam Houston Parkway in Houston; Adrian Uriel Tapia Arrested

27-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Motorcycle Crash on North Sam Houston Parkway; Adrian Uriel Tapia Arrested

Houston, Texas (September 11, 2020) – A 27-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Houston, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:25 a.m., September 5, in the 1100 block of North Sam Houston Parkway West service road near Ella Street.

Police said Adrian Uriel Tapia, 26, was driving a white Jeep Cherokee westbound when he struck a motorcyclist as they both approached Ella Street.

The Jeep dragged the motorcycle through the intersection, and the rider fell.

The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man, was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

Tapia stopped his car, and he and his passenger got out. Tapia then got back into the Jeep and attempted to flee, but he stopped at a car wash after his car caught fire. He then fled on foot. He was arrested in his Conroe home and has been charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid (FSRA) accident involving death.

The police are investigating the crash.
