Harris County, Texas (August 7, 2022) – The 22-month-old twin boy who was killed Friday afternoon in a crash involving a cement truck in Harris County has been identified as Nicolas Resendiz, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened on August 5, near Beltway 8 at Woodforest Boulevard.

Police said Nicolas, his mother, 22-year-old Jennifer Resendiz, her 54-year-old mother, and his twin sister were traveling in a Ford Expedition and was attempting to turn. A cement truck was traveling on the overpass when it clipped through the concrete barrier on the side of the road and fell directly on top of the Expedition.

Nicolas was pronounced dead at the scene. A GoFundMe page has been created to help with the funeral expenses.

An investigation is underway.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
