Nicole Robinson Killed in Nederland Pedestrian Accident on State Highway 347; Zachary Highlander Arrested

Nederland, Texas (October 6, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, a pedestrian was killed on September 26, in a hit-and-run accident north of Nederland.

The deadly accident happened around 2:33 a.m., on State Highway 347 at Third Avenue.

DPS said Nicole Robinson, 32, of Port Neches, was walking on the improved shoulder of the highway when she was struck by a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge, Zachary Highlander, 38, of Nederland, fled the scene after the accident. He was arrested on October 5, in connection to the accident and has been charged with failing to stop and render aid, which is a felony.

The DPS is investigating the accident.
