Norberto Mejia Killed in SW Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash at State Highway 6 and Empanada

Harris County, Texas (March 4, 2020) – A man was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in southwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The crash happened around 1:35 a.m. March 2, in the 7500 block of State Highway 6 and Empanada.

Police said Nasir Ali was driving a silver 2019 Infiniti SUV and was sitting at a red light. When the light turned, green Ali started to go through the light. The SUV was then rear-ended at a high rate of speed by a white Nissan Altima driven by Norberto Mejia.

The impact pushed the SUV into the parking lot further south on Highway 6.

Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ali was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
